Hi, it’s nice to meet you! I’m Dr. Mireille Gonzalez
I’m an applied social scientist with deep expertise in strategy, facilitation, research, and engagement. I help teams work better together on complex conservation and natural resource challenges, bringing clarity, structure, and momentum to work that matters. With advanced training in theory of change, conflict resolution, team science, and human dimensions research, I offer a grounded, people-centered approach that turns insight into action. My work bridges social science and conservation practice to support collaboration, align goals, and create practical solutions for people and nature.
I’m on a mission to bridge research and practice by creating tailored solutions that empower professionals to overcome conservation complexity and drive real-world impact for people and nature.
As the Co-Director of the Center for Human-Carnivore Coexistence at Colorado State University, I advance conservation efforts by building strong, positive relationships between communities and wildlife. I bring my expertise in facilitating group processes, translating complex scientific information for diverse audiences, and resolving conflicts to ensure that conservation goals are achieved collaboratively. Previously, as a Senior Associate for the Center for Public Deliberation, I facilitated dialogue on pressing societal issues, using my skills to bridge divides, depolarize hot button issues, and promote understanding. My passion for fostering global change drives me to create impactful solutions to social conflicts at the intersection of people and nature.
With me, it’s all about:
Collaboration
I believe that the best solutions arise from the power of diverse perspectives and teamwork. By working together across disciplines, sectors, and communities, we create stronger, more effective strategies for conservation.
Excellence
I strive for excellence in every aspect of my work, grounding my approach in evidence, reflection, and continuous learning. I regularly evaluate and adapt my methods to ensure my consulting is thoughtful, effective, and responsive to the evolving needs of conservation and natural resource efforts.
Integrity
Trust and transparency are at the heart of everything I do. I am committed to upholding the highest standards of honesty, accountability, and ethical practice in every project I undertake, ensuring lasting trust with partners and clients.
Let’s see if we are a good fit…
